Russell Joseph Spetter, age 82, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on November 2, 2010 in Garland, TX. Russell was born October 26, 1928 at home in Topeka, KS to Regina and Oscar Spetter. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Bremerton. Russell was preceded in death by his first wife, Flora Spetter; daughter, Marsha Tudor; parents; and brother, Steve Spetter. He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Thelma Spetter; daughters, Mary Patricia Schoenke, Teresa Abate, Diane Jackson and Karen Hares; sons, Dan Spetter and Chris Spetter; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Tom Spetter and Dan Spetter; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, with recitation of the Rosary at 7 PM; and a funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, both at Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home in Dallas.
