

while resting peacefully. Sammy was born March 15, 1917 to Samuel Holt Orman and Lula Henrietta Chote, both of Dallas, Texas.
Sammy graduated from Adamson High School in Oak Cliff in 1934. She attended SMU and the
CIA College for Industrial Arts, Denton, Texas (currently TWU). She earned a Texas
Teaching Certificate and a Masters of Education. She taught in the Dallas Independent School
District for 25 years.
Sammy married Hal Hinton Frazier, Sr of Dallas, Texas in 1937 and they were married for 51
years until his passing in 1988. Sammy was a Texas resident her entire life. She enjoyed traveling with
her lifelong friend Dorothy Conlon. They were always finding tours and cruises, planning trips or
visiting friends and family. They also took their grandchildren on camping trips and restored a home
together in Bishop Arts. Sammy loved that area of Oak Cliff and served on countless committees,
home tours and projects, and was one of the founders of the Kidd Springs Neighborhood Association.
Sammy served many selfless hours and never hesitated to give a helping hand. She also was a constant
at Norma’s Café on Davis and holds an honorary key.
Sammy resided in Fredericksburg, TX for 12 years, 1994-2006. She was a member of the Fredericksburg Volunteers in Police Support and the Needs Council. She loved working at the Food and Wine Fest, parades,and the county fair. She also enjoyed delivering Meals-on-Wheels and was active at her local church.
She was a member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church in Dallas for 90 years where she gave her life to Christ and was baptized on April 8, 1928 at age 11. She was voted Volunteer of the Year in 2010, at the age of 93. She was the longest active member of Cliff Temple at the time of her death, and was loved by all.
Sammy is survived by her son Orman Frazier (Mary Ellen) of Marshall, TX, daughter Judy Albright (Glyn)
of Benbrook, TX, and daughter-in-law, Luisa Frazier, of Talent, OR; her grandchildren Tony Frazier
(Melodee) of Fairview, TX, Benjamin Frazier of Fredericksburg, TX, Matthew Albright of Richardson, TX,
Michael Albright (Amber) of St. Louis, MO, James Frazier (Rainie) of Maui, HI,
Anna Duval (Jefferson) of Talent, OR, Alice Frazier of Denver, CO, and 7 great grandchildren.
Sammy is preceded in death by her husband, Hal Frazier, Sr, her eldest son Hal
Frazier, Jr, Dorothy Conlon, and countless friends.
There will be a visitation at Cliff Temple Baptist Church Chapel, 125 Sunset Ave, Dallas, TX
on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 9:00am, service to follow at 11:00am.
A graveside service will be at Laurel Land Memorial Park, 6000 South R.L. Thornton
Fwy, Dallas, TX 75232, at 1:00pm.
