Our beautiful Sandra passed away peacefully on February 7, 2022, with her family lovingly by her side. She was “Mimi” to her children and grandchildren, “San“ to her friends and family and “Darlin” to her beloved husband of almost 60 years.
Sandra was an amazingly strong woman. But she will be remembered mostly for her kindness, fun energy and service to those in need. Sandra never met a stranger and was friendly and kind to everyone. Sandra was quick to give out hugs and a friendly hello to friends and strangers alike. She was a great listener and possessed a great sense of empathy. Sandra could also be very silly and loved to have fun playing practical jokes as her grandchildren giggled in delight (much to Bob’s chagrin).
If you needed to find Sandra, it was not hard. She was usually at the gym for her daily aerobics class or at home snuggling with her many rescue kittens. If not there, Sandra could surely be found at Highland Park Presbyterian Church or with the Salvation Army of North Texas Dallas Women’s Auxiliary serving her community.
Over the years, Sandra loved volunteering her time and talents with the Junior League, Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and the Chrystal Charity Ball. She also enjoyed attending and hosting various garden and book club programs and Bible studies with her friends and enjoyed her membership with the Dallas Woman’s Club.
Mostly, though, Sandra loved raising her three children and spending time with her husband, Bob. She loved going out to dinner with family and close friends and walking the beach every summer on the annual family trip to Ponte Vedra, Florida.
Sandra attended Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and Southern Methodist University ,where she met Bob Cecil, the love of her life.
We will dearly miss our Sandra and will forever cherish her in our hearts and memories.
