Sara Ann (Ann) Alardin was born August 23, 1935, and ventured into Eternity on June 6, 2024, at her home in Mesquite, Texas at the age of 88. Born in Allen, Oklahoma, to Grace and Gus Curlee, Ann was the last of her siblings to pass into the afterlife. Preceded in death by one son, Glendon Richardson, Jr, Ann is survived by her husband, Phillip Alardin, her children, Shirley Lane and her husband Keith, Regenia Kirkham and her husband David, Michael Richardson and his wife Shannon. Ann had 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great, great-grandchildren, and even more extended family and friends who all loved her and will miss her very much.
A fan of classic Motown, Ann loved to dance and had a collection of classic Motown music which she loved to play on their record player console at home. Many fond memories have been made of her dancing with her children in the living room of their family home. Ann loved dancing at the Debonair Danceland in Dallas in her younger years and she loved watching the Dallas Cowboys when she wasn’t working.
Ann worked various jobs in her life, including as a waitress at the Ramada/Twin Sixties hotel restaurant where she often served the Dallas Cowboys before their games. She mentioned meeting Cowboys #72 Ed ‘Too Tall’ Jones and #75 Jethro Pugh, who she said were some of the nicest people she ever met. She later became a store manager at Special Woman and was mentioned in the local paper. During her life, Ann met many people and touched their lives as only she could.
Ann was a fantastic cook and her family always knew she'd have a cake baked and frosted and some freshly cut fruit ready for when they would visit. Ann loved plants and flowers of all sorts, often kept a garden, and loved watching her grandchildren grow up.
