She was born Sharon Kaye Fry on December 12, 1943 in Durant, Oklahoma to Lee Fry and Ola Faye Ennis. She married her husband, John, on July 18, 1963; they were married for 61 years and had two boys, Jeff and Tom.
Sharon co-owned Faulkner's Cleaners with her husband working as secretary, sewing, beautifying the lobbies, keeping immaculate paper trails, and doing any other odd jobs that needed to get done. She was the first female president of the Texas Laundry and Dry Cleaning Association.
She had a good eye for candid shots and kept a whole library of photo albums. She loved horses, scarves, Elvis, Hershey's, traveling with family and friends, identifying birds on peaceful mornings, and would always drive around a parking lot till she found a spot near the front like her daddy taught her. She was adventurous and daring, almost losing her leg in a jet-ski accident and learning to walk again alongside her granddaughter as the latter learned for the first time.
She was a loving mother and the best memaw - with her rescue, Bob, in a laundry basket bungee-strapped to the front of a four-wheeler, she and her granddaughter would spend weekends riding around the lake singing songs as loud as they could. She gave the tightest hugs.
Sharon is preceded in death by her mother Ola Faye, father Lee, stepmothers Willa Lee and Dee, sister Anita, brother Don, and her son Jeff.
She is survived by her son Tom and his wife Karon, granddaughter Kristen, sister Linda Sue, aunt Frances, many nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
