Our beloved Shirah (Sherri Ann) Schenkler Hollen Buchinger was born October 26, 1954 in Dallas, Texas to Robert Lee and Anita Schenkler.She passed away on March 13, 2010 in Dallas, Texas. Shirah was a member of Ohr Hatorah Congregation, and a flight attendant with American Airlines for 35 years. She fought a long and courageous battle with liver disease. Shirah was a devoted, loving and thoughtful member of our family and community. She was an avid student of Torah, was very creative and loved art and participated in Synagogue activities. Shirah was a generous donor to charitable causes and loved having guest at her Shabbos table. Survived by her husband, Yitzchok (Alex) Buchinger; mother, Anita Schenkler; sisters, Peri Schenkler, Carolyn Zalta and husband Michael Zalta and Jodi Rodenberg; brother, Mordechai (Mark) Schenkler of Jerusalem; father and mother-in-law, Morris and Ella Buchinger of Los Angeles, Ca.; many nieces and nephews and a large extended family, as well as dearest friends, Rabbi Benjamin and Bracha Stolov. Graveside services were held on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Rabbi Bentzi Epstein and Rabbi Yerachmiel Fried, officiated. If desired, memorials may be sent to Dallas Area Torah Association.
