Shirley Lewis Beren, 94, of Dallas, Texas died December 14, 2014. The daughter of Lawrence and Daisy Lewis of West Orange, New Jersey and loving wife of David O. Beren, Shirley passed away from natural causes. She was a resident of The Plaza at Edgemere. Shirley is survived by her sons Jeffrey (Wendy Gold), Richard (Nancy Scott), and her daughter Wendy (Jim Howard), all living in the Seattle, Washington area. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Jake Beren of Crested Butte, Colorado, and Hannah Beren of Brooklyn, New York. Shirley was married at 20 and moved with her husband to Dallas. There, knowing no one, she and David raised three children and became an integral part of David's extended family. Shirley was kind, generous, and loving. She was helpmate of her husband for 45 years until his death from Leukemia in 1986. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
