On April 21, 2026, at 4:30 a.m., heaven opened its gates wide and welcomed one of its brightest souls, Shirley Ann Odgers. If heaven had ever forgotten how to giggle, laugh, or radiate pure joy, Shirley reminded them all when she entered the gates—because she carried those gifts with her everywhere she went.
Shirley Odgers, age 92, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 30, 1933, in Frostburg, Maryland, Shirley moved with her family to Dallas Texas in 1945 at the age of twelve. She graduated from Sunset High School and went on to build a long, successful career as a company accountant. Later, she opened her own tax preparation business, where she found her true calling. Shirley excelled in her work, not only because of her skill, but because she genuinely loved helping people. She cherished the relationships she built with her clients and treated each one with personal care and attention.
Shirley was especially proud of her family—Robert and Julie White, and her beloved granddaughter Cecilia “CC” White. She adored CC and never missed an opportunity to brag about her. Her pride in her family was boundless.
Shirley also embraced a large extended family through her brother, Charles Griffith Odgers, including her in every celebration, milestone, and gathering—weddings, birthdays, school events, graduations, vacations, and everything in between. If family was involved, Shirley was there.
She is survived by her son Robert Keith White, daughter in law Julie Kramer White, and granddaughter Cecilia White. She is also survived by the Odgers family, lovingly known as the “Odgers Klan,” including her sister in law Marguerite Odgers; nephews Ricky Arnecke, Duane Arnecke, Griff Odgers, Blake Odgers, Drake Odgers, Doug Burns and David Smith; nieces Teri Arnecke Burns, Laura Odgers Smith, Becky Odgers, La Donna Arnecke, and Tammy Odgers; twelve great nephews, ten great nieces, and twenty five great great nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father Charles Alfred Odgers, mother Gladys May Odgers, and her brother Charles Griffith Odgers.
Funeral Service will be held on April 30, 2026, at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 S. RL Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75232. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m., with graveside services immediately afterward.
