Simon Villarreal
May 3, 1948 – June 22, 2012
Simon Villarreal, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, passed away Friday in Dallas of natural causes. He was born in Huntsville, Texas, on May 3, 1948, the son of Ruby (Lupe) and Simon Villarreal. Simon was six when his father passed away, and he lived much of his life with his mother and his stepfather, Paul Juarez. Simon grew up in Dallas with his sister, Norma Villarreal, and brothers Paul, Ricky, David and Michael Juarez. He attended North Dallas High School and became a printer by trade. Simon married Patricia Ramirez in 1969 and had three children, Gina, Sonia and Simon. Later in life, Simon married Israel (Leti) Guzman, and became a father figure to her children, Rosinda and Edwin.
Simon will be remembered most for his sense of humor and his caring heart. He loved his family deeply, and he worked hard throughout his life to support them. He especially loved his children and his grandchildren and found great joy in his role as a grandfather. Both the Villarreal and Aguilar families – which have grown to include many children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and in-laws – remained close to Simon over the years. He was loved very much, and we all are greatly saddened by his passing.
Simon is survived by his wife, Leti, and her children Rosinda Aguilar and Edwin Aguilar of Dallas; stepfather Paul Juarez and brothers Paul, Ricky, David and Michael Juarez of Dallas (he was preceded in death by his mother, Lupe, and his sister, Norma); his children, Gina, Sonia and Simon; their spouses Addison, Rick and April; and his grandchildren Jacob, Christian, Ethan, Chloe, Ava and Mia, all of Dallas.
Services will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home at 3235 Lombardy Lane in Dallas. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 26, from 3:00pm-8:30pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 27, from 2:30pm-3:30pm.
