Steve was raised in Cockrell Hill, Texas and graduated from Sunset High School in 1972.
He married Norma Nance Jones in 1989 and they had one child. He was a Diesel Engine Technician at Jones Diesel Service where he worked for more than forty-six years.
In his spare time, Steve enjoyed fishing, snow-skiing, camping in the mountains of Colorado and traveling with his wife Norma. He really enjoyed getting together with family and friends. His family will always remember him as Uncle Stevie.
He is preceded in death by his father, Royce W. Jones; mother, Annie Jones; brother, Lewis Jones, and his skiing buddy, MacKenzie Beary.
He is survived by Norma Jones, son, Jeffery A. Jones; sister, Loretta Petti John; husband, Charles; sisters-in-law, Betty Dotter (Donnie), Brenda Ezell; brothers-in-law, Carl Nance, Gary Nance, Tommy Nance; (Karen), twenty-one nieces and nephews; twenty-one great nieces and nephews; four great-great nieces and nephews.
