

Tom passed away at his home surrounded by his family on June 1, 2012. He was born July 26, 1922, the son of John E. Brumfield and Mattie Ruth Ford in Kemp, OK. Tom married Mary Alice Clement on May 8, 1942 in Colbert, OK. He lived in Denison, TX prior to serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific aboard the U.S.S. Dobbin. After his honorable discharge from the military, he moved to Dallas where he had a long career in mechanical engineering. Tom was employed by Farwell Mechanical Co; owned his own business for 12 years; worked for Sam P. Wallace in the Middle East for several years; and retired from Frost and Keeling Associates, Inc. Tom was active with the Boy Scouts of America with Circle Ten Council of Dallas; was a member of the Masonic Lodge; and was an ordained Deacon of the Southern Baptist church since 1950. He was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 4 brothers. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mary; children, David and wife, Carol of Richardson, Joe of Dallas, Barbara of Houston, and Cindy Finley and husband, Clif of Dallas; granddaughters, Melissa Leigh Daley of Hurst, Kristin Denise Brumfield of Dallas and Alicia Lee Smock of Dallas; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will be at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to VNA Hospice, 1440 W. Mockingbird Ln Dallas, TX 75247.
