Raised in Dallas, Tommy spent his formative years in Shreveport before moving to Austin in 1985 where he resided the rest of his life. He loved to travel and would often talk about the European countries he visited with his parents. As a youngster he enjoyed hunting with his father at the numerous ranches of family friends located throughout Texas, New Mexico and Colorado. He didn’t miss many birds either, often hearing a chorus of “Nice shot Pard”from his fellow hunters.
Tommy was a ladies’ man telling women he fancied “You could be my girlfriend.” He loved all things Korean even visiting the DMZ in 1996. Over the past 10 years he spent months on road trips to missions, churches, parks, cities and capitols in over 30 states counting every windmill along the way. He also loved dining out usually commenting, “This is the best meal ever!”
Tommy was deeply religious and would often say “I am praying for you.” Although baptized in the Catholic Church he later hedged his bets by being baptized again inthe Presbyterian, Episcopalian, and Baptist Church (twice).
Special thanks to his caregivers Ruby Guzman and Rosemary Garcia, whose love and affection during the past several years brought him so much happiness. Also, many thanks to Candice Swain his nurse advocate, Gayna,Jessica and Josie for all of their care.
Tommy was cheerful in allweathers, always kind to his fellow man and never forgot a birthday. He will be dearly missed but now rests peacefully in the kingdom of heaven.
