Thomas Edward Sheftall

Born September 14, 1928, Tommy was called by our Lord to join Him in His heavenly kingdom November 10, 2015. Born in

Vicksburg, Mississippi to Tattnall Carlisle and Annie Lea Sheftall, Tommy married Bettie Ann Jorgenson December 18, 1949. He resided in Mesquite the last 58 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 50 years, Bettie; and sister, Dorothy Garrison. Tommy will be missed, but loved and remembered forever by many friends and family.

Deeply mourning but gladly commending Tommy to our Lord are his children, Becky & James Lewis of Nevada, TX, Edward Sheftall, of Dallas, TX, Kathy & Scotty Holt of Mesquite, TX; his dearly loved 5 unique & quite exceptional grandchildren, Cassandra Holt of Dallas, TX, Sara Boukhari and husband Joe of Dallas, TX, Joseph Holt of New York, NY, Stephen Sheftall of Austin, TX, and Brian Sheftall of Farmers Branch, TX; as well as sister Carolyn Peters of Mesquite, TX; and awesome nieces and nephews.

Tommy was a member of St. Christopher Episcopal Church, Dallas TX; he retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company; and he embraced life as a member of the 101 and Directors Staff at the Hella Shrine, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.

The family wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Tom Jones of Dallas, TX, his staff, and the medical teams of Doctors Hospital, Dallas, TX for the compassionate care they gave our loved one.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 6 to 8PM, and Funeral Services will Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 at 2:00 P.M., all at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
