Tommie L. Bissic was born on November 08, 1932, in Simsboro, LA, to Tom and Melan Bissic. He had three brothers and two sisters, Raymond, John Jr., Willie B. Rebbie and Fronnie. His parents and siblings all preceded him in death.
Tommie moved from Louisiana to Kansas City, MO to work with his brothers, John and Willie B. He lived and worked in Kansas City, where his four children were born, Shirley (Jerry), Tommie (Eileen), Alicia and Anita. In 1964 he left Kansas City and moved to New Mexico, where his brother Raymond resided. He then moved to Seattle, Washington, where he met and married Alice Perry in 1967. He and Alice were married for 52 years. Alice preceded him in death.
While in Seattle he served as an Elder at the Rose Sherry Baptist Church. He worked as a mail carrier for the State of Washington until his retirement. After retirement he and Alice moved to Texas to be close to her family.
After moving to Texas he liked traveling to family reunions, visiting friends and going on cruises. He enjoyed attending the Hampton Road Baptist Church and attending Sunday School. He regularly brought donuts to Sunday School to share with his class.
He had a quiet and gentle spirit. He welcomed everyone he met with a smile and a kind word. He was nice to everyone he met. He loved to dress nice, smell good and anytime he left the house, wear his favorite hat.
Tommie leaves to mourn him, his children, a niece, Gloria Corbin, grandchildren, Trina, Tyrone, Frank, LaTonya, Candace, David, Justin, Sherry and Stephanie. He also leaves his god-children, Rhonda and Nathan Bradley, daughter-in-law, Mary Perry, many great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
