Valerie grew up loving music and singing in the children’s choir at church. From a young age, she loved to sing and learned how to read music by taking violin and singing lessons. Valerie graduated from Grapevine High School in 1997 and soon after began a 21-year career at Sprint. Her passions ranged from music to cooking – and was a big time sports fan! But, her most favorite role was being a Mom! She made it to every school activity, every taekwondo class, every choir concert. Valerie was a strong advocate for the rights of children with Autism - she always stood up and fought to ensure that her beloved Jonathan received a fair, quality education and the best opportunity to realize his full potential and dreams. Everybody who knew Valerie, knew that she loved her Cowboys, Rangers, and Mavericks. She attended home games, World Series games, and NBA Championship games! Val would cook for home games - and those were fun times! She would cook for her family and friends because she enjoyed making people happy with food! Her passion for cooking, softball, and supporting Ashleigh was so strong that she led the Trinity High School Booster Club for the entire four years Ashleigh played softball … running the concession stand during home games, making street tacos, and breaking fundraising goals all four years! Most of all, Valerie loved her kids, they were her world…and she theirs.
