Velver and I worked at Fishburn’s Cleaners together in the early 90’s. She was a very smart women and taught me many things. I would come up with an idea that I thought made things easier. When I presented to her, she would say “lazy people always find an easier way of doing things”. lol 😂 I did not take offense to this. I just agreed like we were talking about someone else. I will miss Velver. I’ve been saying for years that I was going to go see her, I never made it. Lesson for me. Get out and do the things that are important before it’s too late. 
Rest in Peace Velver Gilmore. You are loved and missed by many ✝️❤️

PRECIOUS MEMORIES 

*GOOD COMPANY: She so graciously accompanied me on a road trip to Logansport, LA. 
*STRAIGHT FORWARD: She boldly told me that she didn't like my new hair style. She said,  "I don't know who told you that looked good, but I like the other style better." 🫢🙄
*ASKED FOR ASSISTANCE: I was grateful to assist her with the paperwork for her new home by taking her to get documents notarized. She was able to enjoy her blessing in her lifetime. 
*GREAT COOK: Because she used to faithfully cook Sunday meals, she welcomed me to come eat. I soon started paying her for my occassional Sunday meals.
A BLESSING TO OTHERS: I loved the sacrifices she made for her nieces and nephews. She was very unselfish.
*AGE IS ONLY A NUMBER: I loved the fact that she was on Facebook at her age and played games on the computer. 

....I am left with soooo many wonderful memories.

This was my grandfather, Frank Earl Gilmore. This was Velver's  husband of 37 years, before his death departed them on March 4,2008 at the age of 72. He was far from perfect, but my grandmother knew that he was a special kind. He had his own way of showing love. I'm gonna miss then both.

My grandmother Velver, bought me my first formal dress to go to my 8th grade prom. This is a pic inside of her house before the prom. She took pictures all of the time. I have so many fond memories of her

On this pic, we're at a Christmas party for Fishburn Cleaners. She worked here as supervisor for over 43 years. She was a hard, dedicated worker.

We always spent time together. I would draw pictures for her and she would act like they were a Picasso and she made me feel like they were. She recently gave me a drawing last year that she had saved.,I was 11.That said a lot to me about her.
