Vera Carolyn Fassel Ulrich was born in St. Louis, MO on Sept 2 1917. Vera graduated from St. Elizabeth’s Academy. She was offered a college scholarship, but instead she went to work to help support her mother and younger siblings following the death of her father. She was married to Neil J. Fassel from 1946 until his death in 1987. She later married Quentin Ulrich who died in 1994. Vera enjoyed golf and tennis and continued playing until age 88. Survivors include daughter Barbara and husband Tom Gallop; daughter Melinda and husband Robert Huff; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held, 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 22, 2012, Calvary Hill North Chapel. Memorials in the name of Vera Helfrich, may be made to: St. Elizabeth’s Academy, 3401 Arsenal St, St. Louis, MO 63118, Attn: Mary Jane Driscoll.
