

Virginia peacefully passed to be with the Lord on January 3, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. She was 94 years old.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jesus Avalos, her children: Rogelio Avalos, Maria Renteria, and Silvia Castillo; and grandchildren: Juan Carlos Avalos Jr. and Vanessa Reese.
She is survived by her brother, Jesus Silva, her beloved children: Margarita Avalos, Manuel Avalos, Carmen Gloria Rios, Juan Carlos Avalos Sr, Maria Eugenia Leal, Diana Patricia Vasquez, Oscar Cecilio Avalos, as well as 33 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Virginia was known for her peaceful and loving personality. She lived for her children and grandchildren. She dedicated her life to helping them in any way she could. Also known as Doña Vicky, Mámá, Amá, La Reina, Abuelita, Grandma, Tita, Lita, and Bisa among other nicknames, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Virginia’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in her long-life journey, rather the sadness of her passing.
A private ceremony will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home on January 9, 2024, at 4:00 pm. The family will receive friends there at 6:00 pm.
Flowers and memorial gifts are welcome but not necessary.
A visitation for Virginia will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A committal service will occur Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
