Born on December 22, 1948, Wallace lived a life marked by world travel, countless movie sets, endless flowers and plants, and an ever present aura of calm. He was gentle and kind, compassionate and generous, and had impeccable manners until the very end. Whether tending to his plants, such as his magnificent 53 year old staghorn fern, sharing a celebratory meal with family, or spending time with his many lifelong friends, Wallace found joy and peace in the simple beauty of life.
He was married to Ann Dishner Symns for 41 years until her passing in 2013. Together they built a loving and creative home where everyone was welcome at the table. Wallace is survived by his daughters Sarah and Molly Symns, and his cherished grandchildren, Willa and Harper Kuhner, Charly and her son Cassius, Stella and John Culwell. His brother-in-law, Joe Dishner. Nieces and nephews: Cherilou Welch, Thomas Welch, Sherilyn Campos, George Dishner and his wife Amanda, Emma Dishner and her husband Drew, and so many others who are either extended family or friends who he considered family. To all who knew him, he was a steady presence, always offering love and insight, and a gentle strength.
Wallace’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched and will forever be present as the grass beneath our feet and the beautiful world around us. He will be profoundly missed and eternally loved.
