
Walton Richard Tucker, a life time Dallas resident, was born May 19, 1922 to William & Mary Ellen Tucker and passed away March 27, 2014. He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, DeLee Tucker; parents; and siblings: Jack Cox, Lilla Mae Cox, Mildred Blackwell, Roy Tucker & Edith Bishop. After graduating from N.R. Crozier Technical High School in 1940 Walton joined the U.S. Navy and was with Company #40-32. He served on the USS Saratoga Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, USS Chloris and Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL. during WWII. He was honorable discharged June 1946. Walton went to work for the Rail Road Weights and Measures in Dallas and retired after 36 years as an inspector of all fruits and vegetables that were shipped to Dallas. Walton & his wife were very active in the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star for 54 years where they were endowed members of John L. DeGrazier Chapter #88 and Tannehill Lodge #52. Walton & wife DeLee were long time members of the Casa Linda United Methodist Church and the loved their “Coffee Cup Class” members. Walton lived the last 4 years at the Texas Masonic Retirement Center in Arlington. The Masonic Retirement Center will have a memorial service there at a later date. Funeral service is 12:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 at Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel with visitation at 11a.m. prior to the service Interment will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park. Walton is survived by numerous nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, great, great nieces & nephews and great, great, great nieces & nephews.
