

He was born in Rising Star, Texas on the cold snowy night of January 23, 1949. Bill graduated from Abilene High School and received a real estate finance degree from Southern Methodist University. He earned a full scholarship to play football at SMU and was selected as the left tackle for the All Southwest Conference Team 1970. While at SMU, he met the love of his life, Karen Peters Jackson. They were married on December 30, 1971 and recently celebrated 53 years.
Bill had a 50 year career in commercial real estate finance. He started his career at Ryan Mortgage Company followed by many years at Northmarq Capital and various other partnerships. He served as FightNight Chairman and Director of TREC, and was a member of MBA, ICSC, ULI, NAIOP, SMU Cox - Folsom Institute for Real Estate, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Bill was a devoted husband and father who always put his family first. He enjoyed coaching all his children’s youth sports teams and attended all their games through high school. The family made many memories at their Possum Kingdom Lake house. He loved playing golf with his children and grandchildren. He loved to create projects and he was a self-proclaimed “master piddler.”
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Madelle, and his beloved sister, Mary. He is survived by his adored wife, Karen, their three children and their families-
Scott, Lisa, William, Molly, and Eloise Jackson; Chad, Lauren, Kate, Davis, Eleanor and Clara Jackson; Sarah, Daniel, Charlie, Merritt and Mary Olivia Wentworth. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Charles Peters and his wife and family; his niece and nephews and their families; and a multitude of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, 10:00 AM at Highland Park United Methodist Church with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial gifts be made to: Faith Presbyterian Hospice and The T. Boone Pickens Center for Hospice Care or a charity of your choice.
