William P. Schiff passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Dec. 10, 2010. He was born in Krokow, Poland on Dec. 20, 1918. In 1942 he married his loving wife of 68 years, Rosalie Baum in the Krokow ghetto under the watchful eyes of their Nazi captors. William was a Holocaust survivor, who with great courage and determination survived the Auschwitz death camp and three other concentration camps. In 1949 with his wife Rosalie and their young child they immigrated to Dallas. Where they made a new life for themselves. For the last 20 years William and Rosalie have devoted their lives to speaking to tens of thousands of area students and other residents about their experiences and the dangers of prejudice, hate and persecution. William is survived by his wife Rosalie, their children Michael, Rachel and Bob Schiff; their grandchildren, Michael III, Rebecca, Jennifer and Nichol and great grandchildren Ava and Asher. Funeral services will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Hwy. Chapel on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a graveside interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
