

Mr. William Edward York passed away on October 17, 2014 at 91 years of age. He was married to Francine York for 61 years. Ed York was a proud Marine of the K Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Regimen, First Marine Division and a veteran of World War 2, serving from January 5, 1942 until January 12, 1946. He earned two Purple Hearts and The Silver Star for his bravery and gallantry in service. He was blessed with two wonderful children. He worked at Southwestern Bell for 40 years. He was an avid tennis player and wonderful father and grandfather. Ed York was a hero to many and will be missed by us all.
William is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Henry and Anne York; Sisters, Pearl Kenney, Virginia Rocheleau, and Carolyn Fitts. He is survived by his loving wife, Francine York; Children, Cynthia Ann York and Douglas Edward York; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Rudy York and Carl York, and numerous other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Lehigh Cemetery in Lehigh, Oklahoma. Please visit www.sparkman-crane.com for more service information.
