

LOVVORN, W. Lamar, born June 5, 1926, died December 17, 2019. He was predeceased by his first wife, Talma Biles Lovvorn and second wife, Ann White Lovvorn; parents, Ben & Floyd Lovvorn; brother Martin C. Lovvorn and son, Lane L.Lovvorn; along with his step-son John White.
He is survived by his sister Mildred Wheeless of Dallas; son and daughters-in-law, Dean & Gloria Lovvorn of Plano and Susan Lovvorn Kropuenske of Camdenton, MO; step-daughter-in-law, Susan White of Cedar Hill; grandchildren, Meghan Robinson & her husband Carey; Lindsay Burkauskas & her husband Dan, Robert Lovvorn & his wife Amanda, Taylor Woodward & her husband Casey, and James Lovvorn & his wife Laura; including Natalie Gatjanis and Nick Gatjanis along with step-grandchildren, Donald White and his wife Suzanne, Haley Manlove and her husband Josh:
Nine great-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Loving father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. Avid traveler throughout the U. S. and abroad. He is remembered as a man of integrity who chose the Bible, as he understood it, to be the authority of his life.
He was a lifelong resident of Dallas and was active for many years in a number of church, business, professional and community organizations, having served as deacon & Sunday School superintendent of the First Baptist Church, Dallas; an executive officer of Frito-Lay and several affiliated companies; executor and trustee of the estate of C. E. Doolin, co-founder of Frito-Lay; chairman & trustee of Buckner Baptist Benevolences; chairman & board member of the Dallas County Hospital District; treasurer & board member of the Dallas County Mental Health Mental Retardation Center; chairman & board member of Texas Association of Business; area vice president and board member of Financial Executives Institute; member of Texas Society of CPA's, American Society of Corporate Secretaries and Society for the Advancement of Management; president of Northwest Dallas Kiwanis Club; board member of Parkland Foundation, Zale Lipshy University Hospital, Dallas Medical Resource Group, Dallas Chapter of CPA's, and Baptist General Convention of Texas.
Visitation with be 6pm to 8pm on December 26, 2019 at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be at 1:30pm on December 27, 2019, and Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkland Foundation, 1341 W. Mockingbird Ln.
