

Winnie married Dean Floyd, with whom she had three children: Danny Floyd, Donna Floyd Elliott, and Larry Floyd. She later married George Petton, and together they had two more children: Debra Bell and Daryl Petton.
Winnie later found enduring love and companionship with Gerald Hinger, her beloved husband of 60 years, until his passing on February 12, 2023.
Winnie worked in the accounting department at the Royal Coach Inn as well as, A master artist in art and life but found her true calling as a devoted stay-at-home grandmother. She played a vital role in raising and nurturing her grandchildren, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support. She will be remembered as a strong and loving woman, a cornerstone of her family, and someone who touched every life she encountered.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Hamilton; children Donna Elliott and Debra Bell; grandchildren Christy Harder, Brian Harder, Jerry Elliott, Rachel Ross, Lauren Watts, and Sara Lakey; great-grandchildren Dylan Ross, Rex Ross, Ryan Ross, Drake Ross, Daisy McCarty, and Lexi Petton; great-great-grandchildren Dean Major McCarty, Archer Brown, Cassian Watts, Jeffery Lakey, and Preston Cagle; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Hinger; children, Larry Floyd, Danny Floyd, and Daryl Petton; siblings, Marvin Wycoff, Kenneth Wycoff, Glenda Wycoff, Margaret Wycoff; and brother-in law, David Hamilton.
Winnie’s love, strength, and warmth will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A graveside service for Winnie will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228, with a reception to follow at the funeral home.
