

Yvonne Golding Weinhardt, 91, passed away peacefully in the night Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Edgemere Retirement Community in Dallas, Texas. She will be remembered by many as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family and friends dearly.
Yvonne was born on January 23, 1922, to John E. Golding and Eda R. Golding in East Liverpool, Ohio, where she grew up and attended school. While in high school, she met and fell in love with William Weinhardt. After high school, Yvonne attended Bradford College in Massachusetts, and then graduated with a degree in French from Middlebury College, in Vermont. While in college, Yvonne was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, chorale, and continued her love of dance.
During World War II, Yvonne taught high school French and served as an American Red Cross volunteer. After the war, she and Bill married and started their life together in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Through multiple moves and an expanding family, they shared their love of faith and friends. In 1961, they made their last move to Dallas, Texas, where Bill continued his work for Collins Radio and Yvonne taught French and English at W.T. White High School for many years.
Yvonne was a devoted Christian with a strong religious faith. She was an active member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church for over fifty years, where she was a member of the choir, altar guild, women’s group, and volunteer at the Plaid Door. She and Bill passed their love of church, always learning, community service, and travel to their four children. They travelled to Europe multiple times and made many trips around the United States to visit their children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and daughter, Linda Yvonne Weinhardt.
She is survived by her children, William John Weinhardt, Stephen Allen Weinhardt, Valerie Anne Luedeker, and Andrea Jeanne Ryan; eight grandchildren, Kelly, Chris, Maureen, and Taylor Weinhardt, Kimberly and Heather Luedeker, and Brittany and Lindsey Ryan; and two great grandchildren, Alexandra and Jake Weinhardt; numerous other relatives and loved ones with whom she shared a lifelong bond and friendship.
Visitation will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, from 5pm-7 pm, Monday, December 16, 2013. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in the chapel. The interment will be private at Hillcrest Memorial Park following the service.
The family wishes to express heartfelt love and appreciation to all who cared for Yvonne in her final years. The love and support you have shown our family will live on in our memories.
