Alan Bertil Gustafson

Alan B. Gustafson, age 68 of New Fairfield, died on Friday at the Danbury Hospital. Alan was born April 28, 1943 in New York, NY the son of the late Bert and Tyra (Gronlund) Gustafson. Raised and educated in New York, he was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran, serving as an MP at both West Point and in Vietnam with the Ist Military Police Co, Ist Infantry Division.

Alan was a graduate of City College, New York where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a retired employee of National Can Co., where he worked as a project manager designing the electrical systems of the company plants both in the United States and overseas. Alan had been a full time resident of New Fairfield since 1967.

Alan is survived by his sister, Alice Gustafson DePasqua and her husband Arthur of New Fairfield.

Funeral services will take place at 12:30pm on Tuesday December 20th at the Green Funeral Home 57 Main Street Danbury with the Rev. Patricia Nicholas, Pastor of the first Congregational Church of New Fairfield, officiating. Burial will be in the Mountainview Cemetery, New Fairfield. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 11:30am until the time of the service.
