Allan Riedinger

Allan was born on February 5, 1951, in Jamaica, Queens, NY, a son of the late Hal and Rita (Koerner) Riedinger. He attended Saint Francis Preparatory School in Queens where he was on the swim team. He later attended classes at Waterbury Technical School.

He lived a life full of kindness, integrity, and love. He touched the lives of many through his generosity, helpful spirit, love of sharing fun and adventures with friends and family.

Allan worked for 32 years for the City of Danbury, Public Buildings Department. He was known for his dedication, hard work, and positive attitude. Outside of work, he could be found doing many odd jobs in the community - trees, hauling loads in his dump truck, septics and working out on the lakes in the area.

Allan also found joy in watersports, parasailing and a dedicated lake night each week for friends & family at his home on Candlewood Lake.

Above all, Allan lived with heart — devoted to his family, loyal to his friends, and always ready with a warm smile or helping hand. He will be remembered for his compassion, laughter, and strength.

In addition to his wife Doris (Cloutier) Riedinger of 50 years, Allan is survived by his daughters, Amanda Riedinger and Heather Riedinger and her fiancé, Christopher Teahen; his granddaughter, Genevieve Teahen; his fur babies and traveling companions Lucy and Desi; his niece, Lorin Dalessio and nephew, Christopher and wife, Alejandra Dalessio. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews: Ben, Seth, Ryan, Sophia, Domenic and Jeronimo.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Dalessio.

A Celebration of Allan’s life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT from 11:00am - 2:00pm. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Candlewood Lake Authority, POB 37, Sherman, CT 06784 or Regional Hospice and Homecare of Western CT, 30 Milestone Rd., Danbury, CT 06810, in Allan’s memory.

Though his passing was sudden, Allan’s impact will be felt for a lifetime. We will carry his memory on in our hearts, always.
