

Anthony John Daria, 66, of Pleasant Valley, NY, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, NY. He was born May 6, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Henry and Nancy (Tronolone) Daria. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Navy Mobile Construction Battalion (the Seabees) from 1966-69, during which time he was awarded several medals. Anthony worked many years as a pipefitter and was also a proud member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union, Local 21, from which he retired. He thoroughly enjoyed the arts, spending time with his grandchildren, and engaging in lively discourse on current events.
A cherished father, he is survived by his two sons; Peter (Mindy) of Hamden, CT; Justin of Danbury; their mother, Katherine (Arnold) of New Milford; two beloved grandchildren; Caroline and David; seven siblings; Geraldine, Paul (Enza), Salvatore (Olivia), Virginia Spiro, Bernard, Gerard, Peter (Sue); thirteen nieces and nephews and many cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Frances and brother Raymond.
Memorial services for Anthony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
