A second-generation Portuguese American, Tony was born on July 23, 1961, in Papanata, Lousã, Portugal, to the late João Silva and Ilda da Piedade Lopes Silva. He later immigrated to the United States, where he built a life rooted in hard work, family, and tradition.
Tony was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to providing for those he loved. Through his grit, determination and entrepreneurial spirit, Tony founded Hi-Temp Products Corp, an industrial manufacturing business legacy that continues to endure more than 30 years later as a proudly held multi generational family owned and operated company.
Tony took great pride in his work and in the relationships he built along the way. Outside of work, Tony enjoyed spending time with his family, staying connected to his Portuguese heritage, and sharing stories, laughter, and meals with those closest to him. He was a man of quiet strength, loyalty, and deep love for his family.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his beloved in-laws, Joaquim and Gracinda Antunes, and his brother, Mario Lopes Silva.
Tony is survived by his devoted wife, Lucy Antunes Silva; his son, Sergio Silva (Caroline); his daughter, Jessica Silva Ospina (Luis Julian); his brothers, José Silva (Maria de Lurdes) and Louis Silva (Ximena); and his brother-in-law, Luis Antunes. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Gavin Joaquim and Elijah Austin Silva, and Araceli Grace Ospina. He is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins in the United States, Portugal, and Brazil.
The family will hold a private service. A public Mass will be offered on January 29, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Parish, Danbury.
