

Cas was born in Danbury, son of the late Andrew and Mary Weiner. He graduated from St. Peter School and the Danbury High School class of 1933B and went on to serve in the Navy during WWII. He was one of five brothers serving during WWII, which made his mother Mary, a” Gold Star Mother”. After his service time was completed, he worked in the local hat shops, Doran Brothers Machine Shop and as a carpenter at Barnum’s Mill and then ran his own business from 1951 until 1988. After retirement he enjoyed gardening, flowers and golf. He was a longtime member of Wooster Hose Company, Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and Ridgewood Country Club and was honored in 1990 by the Danbury Old Timers Association, for his participation in local sports.
He is survived by his daughters Patricia Caporizzo, of Ridgefield and Barbara Boucher of VT, his grandson Erik Boucher, of ME, his granddaughter Heather Boucher of VT, his brother Stanley Weiner of Danbury, his sister Mary Cannon of NJ and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Al, Charles and Edward Weiner and his sister Helen Weiner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, on Thursday, October 4th, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, is in charge of arrangements. Contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
