
Charlene A. Lake, 55, of Danbury, CT passed away on Friday at Danbury Hospital with her family at her side. She was the beloved daughter of Edna W. (Curran) Lake of Danbury and the late Charles E. G. Lake, Sr.
Born in Danbury, Charlene attended Danbury Schools and was a 1978 graduate of Danbury High School. A dietary aid at Danbury Hospital for over 30 years, she was previously employed at Mediplex of Danbury.
Her love of children and animals was only surpassed by her love for her church; she was a lifelong member of St. Peter Church in Danbury.
The family would like to thank Charlene’s caregivers, Noreen and Bill Strempski as well as AJ, Tiana and Juliana for their loving care. They would also like to thank the Drs. Kayal and Botta, Danbury Hospital Emergency Room Department as well as the ICU doctors, staff and unit secretaries for all that they did. They also express their gratitude to Charlene’s co-workers at Danbury Hospital, the staff of Hancock Hall, Nick’s Restaurant and Kaptien’s Corner Deli.
Besides her mother, Charlene is survived by her twin sister, Robin M. Lake of Danbury. Her brothers: Charles E. G. Lake, Jr. and his wife, Joann, of Cairo, NY; Gary Lake and his wife, Ridalue, of Danbury; Douglas Lake of Danbury and Kevin Lake and his wife, Christy, of Centerville, IN. Her two goddaughters: Angelina and Nina Campos. She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30am at St. Peter Church, Danbury with the Rev. Gregg Mecca, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 5pm-8pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
