

Daniel C. Doubek, 37, of Danbury, passed away at his home on Friday, March 11, 2016. Daniel was born in Minneapolis, MN, son of John and Pamela Doubek of Danbury. He was a graduate of Danbury High School and had worked for Trader Joe’s prior to his illness.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Michael Doubek and wife Katie of Wake Forest, NC, and Thomas Doubek of Danbury, his sister Katie Schneider and husband Joe of Springfield, PA, and his niece, Avery Doubek, and nephew, Wade Thompson. He is also survived by his beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dan had a deep intellectual curiosity, and was an exceptional student of history. Along with being a voracious reader, he visited dozens of Civil War and Revolutionary battlefields over the years, and was renown among his family and friends for his knowledge and insight. His engaging personality and sense of humor left everyone with whom he spoke feeling better after they had conversed with him than before.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Thursday evening, March 17, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
