On the evening of October 29th, 2021 we lost our beloved mother, wife, and dear friend, Daria Tsiames, at the young age of 61. Daria was born September 1960 in Modena, Italy to Franco and Bernadette Cremonini.
At the age of 10, Daria, her brother Massimo, Franco and Bernadetta, all not knowing a word of English, came to the United States to live. It was the second biggest challenge to her next to her battle against multiple myeloma at the age of 58. Daria attended St. John’s University where she majored in Pharmacy. After being licensed in both the State of New York and Connecticut, she worked at CVS for a short period of time before taking a position of pharmacist at New Milford Hospital in 1991 where she remained for over 20 years and through hard work rose to the position of Director of Pharmacy in 2017. In 1991, she married Mark Tsiames and together raised two beautiful children, Melissa and Michael in the town of New Fairfield. Daria was a person full of life and was loved by all she met both professionally and socially. She enjoyed the outdoors especially during the fall season and welcomed any opportunity that allowed her to hike the nature trails here locally in Connecticut and in New Hampshire’s White Mountains region where she maintained a second home. Her hobbies included hiking, ice skating, x- country skiing, snow shoeing, baking and more recently beekeeping. She loved people and her house was one welcome to all, whether it be family, neighbors or friends from work. Without fail, you could find Daria singing and dancing in the kitchen while putting together an amazing meal especially during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. She greatly appreciated the outdoors and instilled that love of the mountains on her daughter and family. Daria was a light in everyone’s life and brought joy to everyone that knew and or worked with her. She is survived by her husband, Mark, her two children, Melissa and Michael, her father, Franco, her brother, Massimo and her nieces and nephews.
Services for Daria will be held at St. Edward’s the Confessor in New Fairfield on Saturday November 6th at 1:00 pm.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in her name to the following charitable organizations, The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, Save a Young Life Foundation.
