
Born in Fall River, MA to the late John V. and Sylvia Cambra Botelho, David moved to Danbury in 1939. He attended St. Peter School in Danbury and was a 1949 graduate of Danbury High School, where he was a star basketball player and record setting scorer.
David served with the US Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1050-1954 on the USS Hyman. He was the recipient of the National Defense Ribbon and the Korean Service Medal.
Besides his parents, David was predeceased by these siblings: John, Manuel, James, William, Peter, Daniel, Mary Howard and Sylvia Bonner.
Survivors include his brother: Thomas V.Botelho of Midwest City, OK and sisters-in-law: Gracinda (Francisco) Botelho of Danbury and Mary Botelho of Medford, MA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 18, 2015 at 11am at St. Peter Church, Danbury, with the Rev. Gregg Mecca, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received on Monday, May 18, 2015 from 10:00am to 10:45am at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
