Donald P. Viscio, 89, of Blue Bell, PA - and previously of Danbury, CT - passed away on September 5, 2024 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born on October 13, 1934 in New Haven, CT to the late Pasquale Viscio and Sadie (Fertitta) Viscio. Donald was a graduate of Wilbur Cross High School and the University of Connecticut.
For 35 years Donald worked for Heli-Coil (ultimately Stanley). He was a highly successful industrial engineer and executive, traveling the world and earning multiple patents for innovative design.
As successful as he was in business, Donald’s first devotion was to the health and happiness of his family. His love for his wife of 67 years, Carmel (Sullo) Viscio, their children, Lynne (Sharon Wilkie) Viscio, and Donald Jr. (Kris) Viscio, was undeniable. And he absolutely cherished his grandchildren, Alex (Wilkie-Viscio), Alison (Viscio) and Adam (Wilkie-Viscio). He also deeply loved his extended family and thoroughly enjoyed spending time together creating wonderful family memories.
As a graduate of UConn, Donald was an avid Husky fan, and he faithfully cheered on both the women’s and men’s basketball teams. He was also a very loyal fan of the NY Giants through both good seasons and bad. In his younger days, he loved participating in numerous sports including basketball, softball, bowling, and golf.
He loved Broadway musicals and never missed the opportunity to sing along to any one of his many favorites. He was a lifelong learner, a crossword puzzle enthusiast, and a talented woodworker. He was known to all for his wisdom, generosity, and kindness.
In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Donald is survived by his sister, Patricia Kapsinow, many nieces and nephews, and numerous other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his sister, Carmella Rusate, and his brother, Richard Viscio.
