

Ermelinda was born in San Miguel, Acores to Jose and Teresa Resendes (Pereira). She went to school in Arrifes, San Miguel, Acores. She married Daniel C. Cordeiro on July 17, 1948.
Ermelinda worked as a homemaker raising her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and had a passion for praying the rosary.
Ermelinda was preceded in death by her husband Daniel, her parents, her daughter Lucia, son Joe, son-in-law Duarte Sousa, her brothers Manuel, Antonio, and Jose Resendes, and her sister Maria do Carmo Silvestre.
Ermelinda is survived by her children Daniel and his wife Valdemira, Maria do Carmo Sousa and her husband Julio, Lucio and his wife Lidia, John and his wife Elvira, Louie and his wife Maria Natalia, Eusebio and his wife Tina.
She is also survived by 15 grandchildren: Venilia, Daniel Jr., Nancy, Diana, Amy, James, Alaina, Christopher, Jennifer, Katrina, Kendra, Kelsie, Louis Jr., Jason, and Raquel; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Calling hours will be held from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10:30 am Friday, November 19, 2021, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 149 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury, CT. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
In lieu of flowers, donations and contributions can be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in her name. The entire family of Ermelinda wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Danbury Regional Hospice and Laurel Ridge Health Care Center.
