Feliciana S. DeSousa

Feliciana was born in Vila Franca da Serra, Portugal, a daughter of the late Jorge Dias de Amaral and Maria Augusta Santinho. At the age of 18 she immigrated to the U.S. with her family and arrived in Taunton, MA. Shortly after arriving, she moved to Danbury to find a job with her parents, where she met and fell in love with her husband.

Feliciana was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked for Burroughs Corp. as an assembler, and worked intricately with PC boards. She was a member of the Portuguese Cultural Center in Danbury, an active member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish and volunteered with the Legião de Maria. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, cooking, socializing and walking with friends.

She loved spending time with family and would do anything for her kids and grandkids. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.

Her survivors include her two sons: Daniel DeSousa and wife, Isabel; and Rui DeSousa and wife, Meredith. Grandchildren: Daniella, Dominique, and Emmi. Her siblings include: Justina DeFigueiredo and husband, Jose; Antonio Dias and wife, Karen; Jorge Amaral and wife, Isabel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her brother, Joaquim Amaral.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11a.m. on Monday, August 9, 2021, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 149 Deer Hill Avenue in Danbury, CT. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery

Friends and family will be received from 2:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT. Masks are required at the funeral home.

Flowers and condolences may be offered to Green Funeral Home; donations may be offered to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the American Stroke Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
