

Florence N. Rayner, was born on Westville Avenue, in Danbury, November 20, 1917, the daughter of the late Charles and Eva Ciegelsky. She passed away peacefully on October 14, 2011, at the Filosa Convalescent Home, on Hakim Street, which her brother Joseph sold to Mrs. Filosa to start her business many years ago.
During her 93 plus years she was a house wife, a nurse, the first time keeper at the Barden Corporation, enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing, and traveling with her husband Edward. Florence also enjoyed the speed and excitement of auto racing, as well as tending to her flower gardens. She mostly appreciated the company of her neighbors who spent a great deal of their time with her on a daily bases. Florence liked to watch the everyday activities of her neighborhood while sitting on her favorite chair on the front porch.
Florence was married to the late Edward Rayner for over 50 years. She is survived by her son John and daughter-in-law Patricia (Kovacs) of Brookfield, CT. Florence leaves several nieces and nephews which are located throughout the United States. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sisters Helen Bouchard, Mary Kulish, Doris Faulkner and her brothers, Joe, Ralph and Al Ciegelsky.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Danbury, on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call at Green Funeral home, on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
