Jeff was born in New York, NY on August 19, 1950, cherished son of Elkins J. Hayes and the late Claire V. Hayes. Jeff was a veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving in the United States Air Force. He worked as an engineer for over 30 years at Branson Ultrasonic Corporation. A loving family man, Jeff enjoyed attending and hosting family barbeques. Always “Mr. Fix-It”, he loved being able to help and repair almost anything; no matter when or where a family member needed it, Jeff would be there with a solution. Jeff enjoyed sitting on the deck late into the night with his wife and daughters enjoying the beauty of Candlewood Lake from his home on Candlewood Isle.
Jeff will be deeply missed by his father, Elkins J. Hayes and wife Maureen (Kosma) Hayes. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Allison Hayes and Harold “Pete” Peterson, his loving daughters, Mandy Hayes and Laura Hayes Gordon; her husband Geoffrey Gordon and their three children, Lilly, Jake and Gavin Gordon.
The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home on Sunday May 19 from 1:00pm until 4:00pm.
A private burial will take place in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
