
Born in Danbury, George was a son of the late Charles P. and Ida M. Risso. He attended Danbury schools and was a graduate of the Danbury High School Class of 1938. A decorated veteran of World War II, George served with the US Air Force 116th Base Unit in the Pacific Theater of War. George was a recipient of many military awards including the Bronze Service Star.
George spent his career as a teletype operator with the former Bridgeport Brass in Bridgeport, CT. He was a lifelong Danbury resident and member of St. James Church in Danbury.
Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his brothers: Walter C. and Aldo E. Risso.
Survivors include his twin brother: Charles Risso, of Danbury. His two nephews: Walter S. Risso of Danbury and Lawrence Risso of N. Kingstown, RI and his two nieces: Jane Risso O’Brien of Danbury and Merle McGarrett of Rocky Point, Long Island.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 12 noon at St. James Church, 25 West St., Danbury with the Rev. Dr. Joseph Krasinski, Rector, officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel.
