Geraldine A. Walsh

Geraldine A. Walsh, 87, of Danbury, CT passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at The Hearth in Southbury, CT. She was the wife of Edward F. Walsh. Born April 25, 1929 in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Harold “Butch” Boucher and Catherine Brooks Boucher of Boston, Massachusetts. Geraldine graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School of Roxbury, Massachusetts.

Geraldine was a travel agent for many years with JP Travel of Danbury. She loved the many travel adventures to far off lands that she had with her husband, Ed, but none so much as her weeks each summer on “the Cape” in her home state of Massachusetts. A love that was transparent in the Boston accent she just couldn’t and really didn’t want to shake after so many years in Connecticut.

As Geraldine sang out in her favorite song on many wonderful occasions “Your Nobody Till Somebody Loves You” and in that way and in many, many other ways, Jeri most certainly was somebody many times over. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, both old and new.

Besides her husband, Geraldine is survived in death by her son, Edward, and his wife, Rosa, of Danbury CT as well as her daughter, Kelly, of Woodbury, CT. Geraldine is also survived by her three much-loved grandsons: Kyle, Christopher, and Michael and her brother, Harold E. Boucher, of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Geraldine was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Lorraine Boucher Gould of Canton, Massachusetts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends from 4pm-7pm on Monday, June 13, 2016 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
