She was born Zdzisɫawa Kwiatkowska in Wetzlar, Germany on March 15, 1946. Gigi immigrated to the United States with her mother and sister in the 1950s. There, she grew up in Port Chester, New York, and graduated from Port Chester High School.
On September 11, 1965, Gigi married the love of her life, Salvatore J. Carlucci. They moved to Danbury, Connecticut in December 1967, where they lived and raised a family. In September 2018, Gigi and Sal moved to the warmer climate of Palm Coast, Florida to spend their remaining years together.
Gigi loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed baking homemade cookies with her grandchildren every holiday and going to dinner with the gang from Davis and Geck. Gigi cherished traveling across the United States with her husband, stopping at casinos and shops along the way. Boy, did she love shopping! When not traveling with Sal, she would be outside gardening from sunrise to sunset, concluding the day with a crossword puzzle in the evening. She also enjoyed hobbies such as sewing, reading, and exercising.
Besides her husband of 56 years, Gigi is survived and dearly loved by her daughters Christine (husband Michael) D’Arco and Theresa Monteavaro, her son, Michael Carlucci; her grandchildren Nicole, Maria, and Michael D’Arco; Jacquelyn and Amanda Monteavaro; Gavin and Gemma Carlucci; her brother-in-law, James T. Grove Sr., and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Gigi was predeceased by the recent passing of her beloved sister, Krystina Grove.
Gigi was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
