

Jacqueline Frances Kean, 77, of Port Orange, FL, formerly of Danbury, CT, died on September 14, 2017 at Halifax Health Hospice in Port Orange, FL after a battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Walter Kean.
She was born Feb. 2, 1940 in Danbury, CT, a daughter of the late Francis J. Capellaro and Josephine (Aranowicz) Capellaro. She attended St. Peter School and graduated from Danbury High School. Before moving to Florida, Jackie worked for many years as a waitress, home health aide, and at Brookside Rest Home in Danbury. She was a longtime member of the Danbury Emblem Club, where she served as a past president, and very active with the Danbury Elks Lodge. She enjoyed going on numerous convention trips and made many friends from the Emblem Club and Elks organizations.
She moved to Port Orange in 2000 with her sister, Frances. While in Florida, Jackie worked for many years as a server with GEI Catering at the Palmetto Club of Daytona Beach. Jackie was a longtime member of the Palmetto Club, where she was a board member, as well as the local Emblem Club. Jackie was very active with her church, Our Lady of Hope Parish and the community there meant a great deal to her. Jackie was extremely sociable and enjoyed playing bingo and card games with her friends at La Costa Village, attending many club luncheons and events, and going on many day and overnight bus trips. Jackie always had a smile on her face and was always willing to help her friends and family.
She was very much a part of raising her nephew, Jason Capellaro, and they shared a special bond. She was like a second mother to him. Jackie was a funny, kind and generous woman who will be greatly missed. In addition to her nephew, she is survived by two brothers, Mark Capellaro and his, wife Ferne, both of Danbury, CT; and Robert Capellaro and his wife, Wanda, of Cartersville, GA; a sister-in-law, Theresa Capellaro; several cousins, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Jackie was predeceased by her brothers: Gary Capellaro and Keith Capellaro; and sisters: Kathleen Kuban and Frances Pardee.
The family will receive friends at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, on Friday, September 22, 2017 between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter Church in Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
