

She was born Jacqueline Mary Monahan on June 25, 1915 in Shenandoah, PA. She was the daughter of Dr. John S. and Mary Monahan.
After graduating from Shenandoah High School, she earned a bachelor’s degree from Immaculata College and also studied at New York University. After completing her education, she spent time as a high school teacher in Pennsylvania. During World War II she was in the first USN Officer WAVE class. Stationed in Washington, DC, she helped decode top secret communications through out the war being honorably discharged with the rank of Lieutenant.
Her five children were raised in Philadelphia and Red Bank, NJ. She was a faithful communicant of St. James Church in Red Bank and substitute teacher.
Jacqueline is pre-deceased by her daughter Anne J. O’Shea, her sisters Margaret Gallagher and Florence Rabada and her former husband Henry M. O’Shea. She is survived by her sister Mary Fanelli; her sons, Michel H. O’Shea of Newport Beach, CA and Sea Bright, NJ; John S. O’Shea of Washington, DC; Anthony O’Shea of New York, NY and Peter O’Shea of Danbury, CT; four grandchildren; Zephyr Brustlin of Philadelphia, PA; Mychal and Jacqueline O’Shea of Newport Beach, CA and Jacqueline O’Shea of Danbury CT and one great grandchild; Acelin Bane of Philadelphia, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Dec. 15th at 11am at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield with the Rev. George O’Neill, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received on Wednesday, Dec. 14th from 4pm to 8pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
Contributions in Mrs. O’Shea’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
