

James, a loving husband, father and grandfather, was born in Westport, CT to Frank Lasky Sr. and Dorothy Hills on March 31, 1948. He went to school at Danbury High School and married Nancy DeWitt on June 16, 1971 in Danbury, CT.
Jim worked at Grand Union and Danbury Insulation for several years before working for and then owning Novicky’s Fireside for over 20 years. He was actively involved in The Loyal Order of the Moose for many years and will be remembered for his love of golf, and his kindness, generosity and sense of humor.
James is preceded in death by his son, James J. Lasky Jr., his brothers, Donald Lasky, Frank Lasky and Thomas Lasky, and his sisters, Hope Lasky and Marilyn Ball.
James is survived by his wife Nancy, son Jamie Tyler Lasky, daughter Melissa Lasky, and granddaughter Liliana Mae Ambrose; his sisters, Dorothy Valante, Joan Corsa, Lorraine Littleton, Evelyn Cyr, Marge Marron; his brothers, Edward Lasky, Richard Lasky, and Joe Lasky, in addition to many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
The family of James Lasky wishes to extend our sincere thanks to his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Arlene and Robert Steward.
Calling hours will be held from 9am - 10:15am on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 11am at St. Gregory the Great church, 85 Great Plain Rd., Danbury with Father Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at Wooster Cemetery, 20 Ellsworth Ave., Danbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Those who prefer to send flowers are asked to have them delivered to Green Funeral Home in Danbury on Monday, February 3, due to the early calling hours on Tuesday.
