Joseph Patrick McKeever

Jim was born in New York, NY to Patrick McKeever and Elizabeth Sweeney McKeever on May 18, 1935. He attended Gompers High School in Bronx, NY. He married his sweetheart Margaret Heekin on January 31, 1959 in Bronx, NY. He worked as a custom engineer at IBM for over 25 years and was a veteran of the United States Army. An avid runner, Jim ran his first marathon when he was 50 years old. He became a certified pilot when he was 60 years old. He also enjoyed ballroom dancing, watching sports and movies, and writing poetry.

Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife Margie, brother Vinny, and brother-in-law Hank Cetina.

Jim is survived by his daughter Kelly and husband Joe Nico, son Jimmy and wife Kristi, daughter Doreen and husband Art Bakker, sister Patricia Cetina, brother Kevin and wife Kirsten, sister Andrea and husband Yehuda Fishfeld, nine grandchildren (Andrew, Liz, John, Erica, Michael, Jack, Adam, Joy, and Hope), nine great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and close friends.

Visitation hours will be Monday, January 13, 2025, from 5:00-8:00pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 10:00am at Saint Peter’s Church, 104 Main St. Danbury, CT. Burial will follow at Saint Peter’s Cemetery, 71 Lake Ave Ext., Danbury, CT.
