What a vibrant and talented person I’m so sorry to hear this. Way too young but still leaving a lagscy of good memories and precious pictures for everyone to still keep a smile on their face. Karie was a very close friend to my older sister Jenni. She became very close to our family, that we all looked and considered her to be family! I loved her so much, anytime I saw her she would ALWAYS give me the biggest hug. I am going to miss her beautiful genuine soul! I am very thankful that she got to meet my daughter a couple months ago when we ran into each other at 5 Below! :o) I love you Karie! May you rest in peace.

I knew Karie as a fellow photographer. I would talk to her at wedding shows and she'd always give me a big hug and tell me how proud she was of me for starting my own business. Karie was kind and an incredibly sweet person who I looked up to. She will be incredibly missed, love you Karie.

My first memory of Karie is when she worked at RITZ Camera....I would end up staying for much longer than I should have , conversation, laughing, and trading ideas....Later she became one of the top photographers in the area....We will miss you sweetheart.

I met Karie and Amanda when they were just young girls. I knew Gianna, who introduced me to Donnet, and that’s where the story began. I’ve kept in touch with her through the years. Always smiling and very positive. She became an amazing photographer and always a friend.  She did a photo of my kids as a Christmas present and Just  6 weeks ago she and Jon did my daughter Jens wedding. This memory will be cherished forever for all of us. Shocked and so saddened by her passing. She left us with a big void, that can’t be filled. ❤️

There are so many things to say but words really can't express what an amazing person Karie was to how sad this is. We played softball together, got confirmed together, graduated together, and even spent our first year of college together. I hadn't seen Karie in years but briefly worked with her husband and got to hear about their budding business and their life together. I debated asking her to be my wedding photographer, once I picked a date, because I wanted her to also be a guest and not have to work. I will always remember her. My heart goes out to Jon and the Peterson's and anyone who knew her because well, you know. RIP Karie.

I knew Karie through Lathrop's and found her to be the most sweetest, positive, creative and caring soul who will be dearly missed.  She always found a moment to stop and talk with me and I will always have such fond memories of her.   Rest in peace dear Karie.

As well as her loving parents, adoring husband and dog Gus, Karie is survived by sisters Christine Lynn Peterson, Amanda Ashley Peterson and her husband Harrison Harner, grandmother Myra “Mimi” Peterson, mother-in-law MaryAnn Hinckley, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends.
