Kevin was born in Kilnamanagh, Glenealy, County Wicklow, Ireland, on June 18, 1938, into a farming family. He embarked on a new chapter of life in 1964, immigrating to the United States with his beloved wife, Frances, and their young children, after having spent four years in England.
Upon arriving in the US, Kevin demonstrated his strong work ethic by learning to drive a truck and becoming a professional truck driver and industrial mover, a career he pursued with passion until his retirement in 2006. He was an avid gardener, finding solace and joy in nurturing his vibrant vegetable garden and meticulously landscaped yard. The scent of his blooming roses and the taste of his home-grown tomatoes were among his greatest pleasures. He also enjoyed the friendly competition of horseshoes, cornhole or a well-played game of pool. In his later years, Kevin and Frances cherished their winter months in Nokomis, Florida, where they warmly welcomed family and friends, creating lasting memories and becoming an integral part of the Spanish Lakes community.
Kevin was predeceased by his wife, Frances, sisters Kathleen and Sadie, and his brother, Robert. He is survived by his children Ken and his wife, Janet, of Massillon, Ohio; Philip and his wife, Marie, of New Milford, Connecticut; Caroline and her husband, Steve, of Milton, Delaware (and formerly of New Fairfield, Connecticut); and Brian and his wife, Tamara, of Ridgefield, Connecticut. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren: Sean, Stephanie and her husband Brad, Shelly, Chris, Eric, Colleen, Tara and her husband Doug, Steven and his wife Meghan, Brian, Grant, and Cullen, as well as his three great-grandchildren: Oliver, Finley, and Dougie.
His quick wit and captivating storytelling will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He took enjoyment in sharing memories of his upbringing on the farm, his Irish heritage and the little pearls of wisdom he learned throughout his life.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Saint Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in New Fairfield, CT, followed by the Rite of Committal at Saint Peter Cemetery in Danbury, CT.
