Kim Nannariello, 59, of New Fairfield, CT passed away on June 9, 2025 surrounded by her family. She faced a two-year battle with glioblastoma with extraordinary courage and grace. Kim was a beloved wife, mother, new grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, niece, cousin, and friend who radiated warmth, kindness and generosity throughout her life.
Kim was born in Mount Vernon, NY to Ann and Gennaro Ciriello on November 26, 1965. She grew up in Yonkers, NY where she attended Roosevelt High School. Kim married the love of her life, Larry Nannariello, on September 30, 1989. Their love story began on the ski slopes and was nurtured through their mutual love of family, friends and ice cream for 35 happy years. Larry, her best friend, affectionately nicknamed Papa by Kim, was her biggest supporter and rock through it all.
Kim was a college graduate of Iona College and studied for her Master’s Degree at Fordham University. She worked at Powderhorn Agency, Inc. in Brookfield, CT and later became the Acting President of their Underwriting and Claims department.
Kim had many lovable nicknames coined by her father: Lucky Seven, being the youngest of seven siblings; Little Turkey, as she was born on Thanksgiving Day; Goldilocks, due to her beautiful golden curls; Little Kernel, for her love of corn; Ma Bell, as she loved to talk on the telephone; and Sunshine Girl, as she was always a beautiful ray of light in life. Kim would go on to give nicknames to all of her nieces and nephews, and loved to remind them that “Aunt Kimmy loves you the most!”
Kim was a wonderful hostess and entertained her large extended family for every Easter, Thanksgiving and Super Bowl. Besides for the delicious food and great company, Kim was known for decorating her home like Martha Stewart – complete with beautiful tablescapes, fresh flowers and candles. Like her mother, everyone was welcome at her holiday table. Kim was also a terrific cook and baker, famous for her cherry cheesecake and peanut butter treats that made an appearance at every holiday.
Kim’s greatest joy in life was a visit from her granddaughter every single day since her birth in May 2025. In the last few years of her life, Kim took up crocheting and made many beautiful gifts by hand, including throws for all of her sisters. Every new baby received a gorgeous crocheted blanket, sweater, hat and booties set. Kim also enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles and going on her family’s boat on Candlewood Lake. Kim had several close friends of many years including Liz Ryan, Cindy DiLello, Gina DeMarsico, Carol Donnelly and Vicki Vozza Weg.
Kim is survived by her husband Larry, her children Priscilla (Anil Tatta), Larry Junior, and Karissa; her beloved granddaughter and namesake Viviana Kim Tatta; her siblings Pat Ciriello (Katie), Sandy Squillante (Joe), Zsa-Zsa Reilly (Frank), Annie Knanishu (Jeff) and Sally Ceritelli; her brother-in-law, Joe Nannariello; her adored nieces and nephews Marco Ceritelli (Nicole), Lauren Nadolske (Patrick), Frankie Reilly (Michelle), Samantha Nickoletos (Andrew), Nicolette D’Aloisio (Giuseppe), Jeffrey Knanishu, Marina Ferrara (Josh), Amanda Squillante, Jackie Knanishu, and Joseph Nannariello; her adorable great-nieces and great-nephews Marco, Scarlett and Savannah Ceritelli, Juliette and Andrew Nickoletos, Joshua Ferrara, Frankie and Alessia Reilly, Giuseppe D’Aloisio, and Milania Platt.
